Precision Measurement. Proven Quality.
At Samuel Advanced Fabrication, our Metrology department plays a key role in executing our quality assurance strategy.
Integrated throughout our manufacturing workflow – from pre-production qualification to final product verification – our team leverages cutting-edge dimensional inspection tools to ensure every component meets the most stringent customer and industry requirements.
Our expert team is made up of highly skilled, certified inspectors with extensive experience in dimensional inspection, GD&T interpretation, and customer-specific quality systems. Everyone also receives ongoing training to maintain expertise in AS9102 standards, internal process controls, and evolving customer requirements.
Advanced Inspection Equipment
We have a wide range of innovative metrology tools to accommodate a variety of part sizes, tolerances, and materials:
Hexagon Global S 15.30.10 Bridge CMM: A large-format, coordinate-measuring machine capable of sub-micron accuracy. Ideal for large aerospace components and precision assemblies.
Hexagon Optiv-M Multi-sensor Vision System: A hybrid measurement system with optical and tactile probing capabilities. Ideal for fine-featured parts, plastics, and components that are sensitive to contact.
Hexagon Portable CMM Arm: A flexible solution for quick dimensional verification and in-process inspections on the shop floor or in the field.
Laser Trackers: Leica and FARO: High-accuracy, portable coordinate systems used for large-scale inspection, part-to-CAD comparison, and tool and jig alignment. Accurate within microns over long distances.
Digital Inspection & Data Management
To ensure transparency, traceability, and efficiency, our team also utilizes leading inspection software tools:
Discus Software: Used to generate AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), including ballooned drawings, detailed characteristic accountability, and material certifications.
Net-Inspect: A cloud-based platform that enables seamless submission of FAIRs to customers, while also ensuring compliance with digital thread and industry-specific reporting standards (e.g., aerospace primes).
Both platforms support integration with internal ERP and quality systems, allowing for real-time data access, nonconformance tracking, and audit readiness.
